Integrated Management System (IMS) – Certified to ISO Standards
At Pindulo VDM, leadership means setting the pace for the logistics industry. Our Integrated Management System (IMS) unites four internationally recognized standards into one cohesive framework of governance, performance, and accountability.
ISO 9001 (Quality),
ISO 14001 (Environment),
ISO 45001 (Health & Safety), and
ISO 39001 RTMS (Road Traffic Safety)
This integration ensures that every facet of our operations, from the boardroom to the last mile, meets international standards. Through disciplined execution and continuous improvement, we deliver safe, efficient, and sustainable logistics solutions that enhance client confidence, protect people and assets, and minimize our impact on the planet.
ISO 9001: Quality Management System
We lead through precision and reliability.
ISO 9001 embeds consistent quality into every process, driving operational excellence through streamlined workflows, traceable systems, and continuous improvement. For our clients, that means fewer disruptions, higher service integrity, and measurable performance you can depend on.
ISO 14001: Environmental Management System
We view sustainability as a business advantage.
ISO 14001 guides our commitment to environmental responsibility through efficient resource management, waste minimization, responsible fuel use, and emissions control. By integrating sustainability into our logistics strategy, we align economic performance with environmental stewardship.
ISO 45001: Occupational Health and Safety Management System
Safety is a leadership value – not a compliance exercise.
ISO 45001 underpins a culture of proactive safety management that protects every employee, contractor, and visitor. Through continuous training, monitoring, and accountability, we ensure every operation is conducted safely, responsibly, and with care for human life.
RTMS (ISO 39001): Road Traffic Management System
Our roads are extensions of our responsibility.
As a certified RTMS operator, Pindulo VDM adheres to the ISO 39001 Road Traffic Safety Standard, designed to improve fleet safety, driver wellbeing, and road-user protection. This system reduces fatigue, improves vehicle condition compliance, and drives performance through data-led monitoring – ensuring that every kilometer we travel reflects world-class safety and operational discipline.
Road Transport Management System (RTMS)
At Pindulo, we are committed to safety and sustainability in transporting goods, so we have adopted the Road Transport Management System (RTMS) as part of our operations. The RTMS is a self-regulation initiative for the South African road transport industry that aims to improve road safety, reduce road damage, and increase productivity.
- Vehicle management
Ensuring all vehicles are correctly maintained, roadworthy, and compliant with legislation and regulations. - Driver management
Ensuring all drivers are trained, licensed, and competent to operate vehicles safely and efficiently. - Journey management
Carefully planning routes, schedules, and loadings to ensure vehicles are operated efficiently, safely, and within legal limits. - Compliance management
Regular monitoring of operations to ensure compliance with legislation and regulations.
Implementing the RTMS helps Pindulo offer customers a safer and more sustainable transportation service backed by reduced vehicle maintenance costs, improved driver morale and performance, and increased efficiency and productivity.
Atmospheric Emission Licence (AEL)
Pindulo’s Atmospheric Emission Licence (AEL) is critical to our operations, as it ensures that we comply with the regulations related to air quality management in South Africa.
Our facility in Saldanha can store over 9.4 million tonnes of mineral ores per annum, in bulk, in our warehouses. To ensure that we meet the regulatory requirements, Pindulo has a team of air quality specialists who interpret the implications of air pollution regulations and their applicability to our operations in a systematic way.
Pindulo’s commitment to complying with AEL regulations ensures that we operate in a manner that is safe and sustainable – for both the environment and the communities we serve.
Railway Safety Regulator (RSR)
At Pindulo, safety is our top priority when transporting goods. This is why we work closely with the Railway Safety Regulator (RSR) to obtain and maintain our RSR Permit, which is critical to our operations.
The RSR’s mission is to promote safe railway operations in South Africa through appropriate support, monitoring, and enforcement, guided by an enabling regulatory framework. As a railway transport operator, Pindulo recognises that the RSR plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety of our operations and the railway system as a whole.
The RSR oversees the safety of railway transport in South Africa and promotes improved safety performance to encourage the use of rail. They monitor and ensure compliance by conducting audits, inspections, and occurrence investigations. Additionally, the RSR develops regulations and cooperates with other state organs to effectively manage safe railway operations. The RSR also works to harmonise South Africa’s railway safety regime with other SADC countries.
By working with the RSR and maintaining our RSR Permit, Pindulo can assure our customers of the safety and reliability of our rail transportation services. We are committed to upholding the highest safety and regulatory compliance standards in everything we do.
